    Distimo have released their latest report based on 2010 data that compares games in the Apple App Store, BlackBerry App World, Google Android Market, Nokia Ovi Store and Windows Marketplace. The major findings of the report include: Games on the Windows Marketplace and BlackBerry App World are most expensive at $4.91 and $4.60 (on average) respectively

    Gartner have released their latest figures breaking down the mobile OS market between BlackBerry, iPhone, Symbian, Windows Mobile et al . RIM are doing very well in second place with a 3.3 point gain bringing them to 19.9 percent market share. While Symbian is dominating the list, I’m personally more concerned with smartphone-based OSes that have a relatively vibrant developer community

  • Adobe “On the Verge” of Delivering Flash for BlackBerry

    The CTO of Adobe, Kevin Lynch, said that they are “on the verge of delivering Flash Player 10.1 for smartphones with all but one of the top manufacturers . This includes Google’s Android, RIM’s Blackberry, Nokia, Palm Pre and many others across form factors including not only smartphones but also tablets, netbooks, and internet-connected TVs.” The missing manufacturer is of course Apple. There has been a lot of bickering between Apple and Adobe, culminating in Steve Jobs saying that Adobe was lazy and claimed Apple didn’t support Flash because it was too buggy .

    Checking-in is becoming a hot trend in the smartphone space these days with Foursquare, Yelp, Loopt and Gowalla all competing for users. Gowalla is a popular LBS app for iPhone that are making the move over to BlackBerry, perhaps in light of Foursquare’s recent success with the platform. According to Gowalla founder Josh Williams, BlackBerry users can expect to see a Gowalla app “very soon.” Until then, you can always use the web version at m.gowalla.com, but it can’t compete with the foursquare beta app
