    So it’s not exactly a “Super App” by RIM’s definition, but you can’t deny how handy it is to use your BlackBerry as a flashlight when you need to find your way in the dark. Better than just letting your homescreen wallpaper light the way, ShaoSoft’s FlashOn app is a lot more full featured, allowing you to: set the color of the front LED or turn it off, set the colour of the screen, use the video camera flash LED as a light source and customize the duration of the light.

  • Adobe “On the Verge” of Delivering Flash for BlackBerry

    The CTO of Adobe, Kevin Lynch, said that they are “on the verge of delivering Flash Player 10.1 for smartphones with all but one of the top manufacturers . This includes Google’s Android, RIM’s Blackberry, Nokia, Palm Pre and many others across form factors including not only smartphones but also tablets, netbooks, and internet-connected TVs.” The missing manufacturer is of course Apple. There has been a lot of bickering between Apple and Adobe, culminating in Steve Jobs saying that Adobe was lazy and claimed Apple didn’t support Flash because it was too buggy .

    ? After testing out numerous different Blackberry devices over the past few years, I always find myself with “one more thing” i wish the device would have included. With the Tour it was Wi-Fi, with the CDMA Curve 2 it was a higher resolution camera, and with the 8900 or Pearl Flip it was 3G. Finally, I can say that RIM has “checked all the boxes” with the introduction of the Blackberry Bold 9700, AKA the Bold 2
