This has been around for a few days now and I wanted to write a review of sorts on the service. The idea of being able to create BBM barcodes on your Facebook profile is a great idea . Facebook is the perfect portal to BlackBerry users who aren’t power users and familiar with all the features that BlackBerry has to offer.

I’m sure you all remember the Facebook announcement from Research In Motion announcing the cool things coming for BlackBerry Messenger. Well, here is one of the things they had planned for those upcoming days and weeks

RIM have issued a statement recently to Arab News saying that they are investigating reports in the local press that Saudi regulators have asked for access to BlackBerry Messenger for security concerns . Reports last week said the Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has asked RIM to allow the telecommunications regulator access to monitor messages sent by BlackBerry Messenger.

  Cruising the forums I came across this thread with a request for pig emoticon. I obviously had no idea there was one, but just a few replies into the thread, it turns out there are a load of hidden emoticons deep inside BlackBerry Messenger.

We certainly wouldn’t say there is an outage but the forums are quickly filling up with users indicating they’re having issues with their BlackBerry Messenger. Be it delayed or not getting send and receive confirmations something is up today.

There is a BBM spam message going around that suggests 35 cents will be donated to help Haiti when you forward the message to others. The message reads: “Because of what has transpired in Haiti recently, Blackberry (sic) has decided to help out and give 35 cents for the cause when you pass this message along to your friends on BBM” While most readers are familiar with BBM, and have probably disregarded the message, there are still some new users who are genuinely confused. Since BBM messages are totally free, passing the message on won’t incur a fee, it’s just misleading.

BlackBerry Messenger has been down for some time now. Apparently there are outages across North American carriers that affect BBM, Internet browsing and apps that use data.

Over time, those that chose to use groups got a pretty good handle on everything

Time for another BlackBerry Messenger update everyone. This time we have version 5.0.0.56 now available for download through the BlackBerry Messenger website . No changelog or anything to go with it but from everything that has been released so far, it’s just cleaning up some of the previously know issues making it just a general maintainence release

Another day, another BlackBerry Messenger leak appears. This time we have 5.0.0.55 now available for download. Remember folks, these are all just maintenance releases if you have a working BlackBerry Messenger now, not any huge changes will come from installing the leaked versions that are showing up
